Few places leave you speechless, like the Swiss Alps. Laura and Mark chose to host their wedding celebration in the beautiful town of Arosa, Switzerland. Arosa boasts 360 degree views of amazing snow-capped mountains, unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. With a tremendous love for the outdoors and fun, Laura and Mark invited their close family and friends to enjoy a weekend of skiing and sledging; along with Swiss Fondu and an al fresco lunch on the slopes. Their wedding day was adorned with tradition; including a horse drawn sleigh, vintage carousel rides for their guests, and Swiss longhorns announcing the couple’s arrival for drinks reception. Their wedding celebration concluded with an evening of live music and dancing until the early morning.

We had the immense honor of producing Geraldine & Felix’s wedding film in the beautiful town of Ascona, Switzerland; a place I hope I can revisit often. I could go on and on about the detail and rich history of the church in which they said their wedding vows and the beauty and character of the island villa they partied at all night long, but I think it’s better said with images than words, so I’ll stop here :)

A constant question I’m asked is which medium do I like the most, Super 8 or 16mm; well my answer changes from day-to day, but maybe for a true creative expression, the answer is a mix of the two mediums. Kelsey and Marc’s film was just that; unitizing both Super 8 and 16mm film, we were able to accent and show-off some of the great characteristics of each format. I love the over-saturated, grainy look, of Super 8 and am a huge fan of how clean and flexible the 16mm image is in low light. Not to mention, how the mix of mediums meld so well together to craft a beautiful and moving film. We’ll be doing more of this for sure.

Amanda & Will’s wedding was held at a private estate in Shady Canyon where Tuscany met Old California charm. Featuring succulents, hay bales, olive oil, and wine from the family vineyard; their wedding was rich in flavor and vivid details.

Across the pond in the rolling countryside of Hampshire, England, we met up with an amazing couple, Alicia and Jun. We had the pleasure of spending a couple of days with them enjoying English tea, taking a scenic barge trip to the local pub, and capturing their breathtaking wedding ceremony in the gardens of the Four Seasons, Hampshire, a former estate of Henry VIII. The weekend was perfect and their super 8 film offers just a small taste of the beautiful anthology that we’re creating for them.
